Sculpture by Peeter Mudist
The statue Homeland (later called Statue with a Stonemason) by the
outstanding sculptor and painter Peeter Mudist (1942–2013) was
erected on the lawn in front of the Eduard Vilde Museum in 1983.
The sculpture depicts a bare-chested, barefoot woman with her
arms crossed. Behind the woman’s back sits a naked child with
a hammer and a chisel.
